Kim chose to become a therapist because she believes in walking alongside others and helping them carry their burdens. Having witnessed the transformative power of compassion and connection, she believes in creating a supportive space for self discovery, healing and growth.
Kim is an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS). She began her career as an elementary school teacher after earning a BA in Human Development with an elementary education certification from Lee University. Kim continued her education and earned a Master’s in Community Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regent University. She has been a therapist since 2005, bringing nearly 20 years of experience to her practice.
Kim has advanced training in Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD (ERP), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Child Center Play Therapy (CCPT), Sand Tray Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Additionally, Kim enjoys incorporating art and mindfulness techniques to enhance sessions with clients. She is neurodiversity-affirming and committed to cultural humility.
Outside of her practice, Kim enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, children and their sweet Bernedoodle.
